Russian Bodybuilder’s Synthol Injections Starting to Go Wrong

A few weeks back we wrote a little piece on 21 year old Kirill Tereshin from Russia who’d been using Synthol to grow his 24 inch biceps.
Well, surprisingly, things have started to go a little wrong for the ‘Real Life Popeye’ (maybe should  be Pop Arm). His arms, now full of the dangerous oil have begun to turn a dodgy shade of red.
One of Kirill’s recent quotes about his injections was:
In order to reach such a size, you need to inject litres into your arms.
I was doing it and getting a fever of up to 40 degrees, I was lying in bed, feeling like I was dying, but then it all turned out fine.
Maybe the word fine isn’t something he’d use if you asked about it now. And the initial 40 degree fevers aren’t and never will be a ‘fine’ reaction to anything.
It seems that Kirill’s home made synthol, a blend of olive oil, benzyl alcohol and lidocaine, is not being ‘fine’ at the moment.

Synthol usage can cause death

While he protests that the use of synthol and the disproportionate size of his arms is something that’s giving him confidence, it seems that it’s also going to be something that does end up killing him.
Synthol is known to form cysts and ulcers within a muscle that can eventually lead to lung embolisms.
We really hope that someone can offer this young guy a resolution to his problem, as his self image is something that is slowly but surely spiraling out of control and harming him.
He’s also said he wants a full body tattoo, colored contact lenses, fangs and a mohican. All of which is pretty normal given his current situation.
We just hope he adds ‘a bit of help’ to the list.
Interestingly, his Instagram page has been taken down. We don’t know whether he did this himself, or Instagram finally decided he was a bad advocate for fitness…
